History
Bedok Reservoir was one of the two reservoirs built by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) as part of its Sungei Seletar/Bedok Water Scheme. Construction work for the scheme began in 1983 and was completed in 1986 at a cost of S$277 million. [1] The reservoir was completed in 1986, and in 2004, Bedok Reservoir was opened for water activities. [2]
Since then, Bedok Reservoir has experienced many developments that continually add to its charm. Aside from its fundamental purpose as a water catchment, it has become a crucial public infrastructure, a community space for numerous activities, and a site of cultural appreciation.
